To avoid the tourist meal, today you have a local lunch with an a la carte menu at a nice local Cantonese restaurant, where you could enjoy the authentic Chinese food.
After lunch, head to the Houhai Lake ( 2.5 hours sightseeing ) – the old part of Beijing and visit a century-od old courtyard and learn about its history, layout, Fengshui, and its traditional Chinese culture involved. Then take a pedicab and drive through the zigzag and narrow alleys or the Hutong. Two people share one rickshaw. and get to the Drum Tower.
Ascending the 67-meter high and two-story Drum Tower dating from 1420 is sure to bring you back to the old Beijing by seeing the big drum tower and having bird’s-eye view of the surrounding communities of hutongs and siheyuan – existing traditional courtyards in Beijing.
Forbidden City
Day 2 (L):
Today, you will visit Mutianyu Great Wall in the morning. It’s one of the seven wonders in the world. Mutianyu is about 80 kilometers away from the city center. It takes about 1.5 hours to drive there, and you will spend about 2 hours for hiking there. Your tour guide will choose a less crowded section Great Wall for you to start.
In order to save your time and energy, you will take the cable car to the half way and then you can start to hike and enjoy the beauty of Great Wall and it’s surrounding.After the hiking, the lunch will be arranged at the local Chinese restaurant near by.
In the afternoon, we will visit Dingling Tomb (1.5 hours visit ), one of the 13 Ming tombs of the 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty ( 1368 – 1644). From the Yongle Emperor onwards, 13 Ming Dynasty Emperors were buried in this area. You will visit Dingling, the tomb of the Wanli Emperor, which is the only one of the Ming Dynasty Tombs excavated. Back to your hotel.

Day 3 (L)
After breakfast, start your morning tour with the visit to Beijing Zoo, you could see the national animal Pandas. Followed the Summer Palace (2 hours sightseeing), originally a royal garden and a temporary dwelling palace for emperors of Qing Dynasty. Its predecessor was the Garden of Clear Ripples (Qingyiyuan) started in 1750 and burned down by the British and French allied troops in 1860.
To avoid the tourist meal, today you have Local Foood lunch with an a la carte menu at a nice local Sichuan restaurant, where you could enjoy the authentic Chinese food.
After lunch, head to the Olympic Park ( outside visit ) to have an outside look at the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube. The bird nest stadium hosted the main track and field Football, and final competitions for the 2008 Summer Olympics, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies. The Water Cube has a total floor space of 50,000 square meters with a seating capacity of 17,000. It is dubbed “cube” because of its semi-transparent “bubbles” spread out all over its surface with a shape very similar to the structure of “H2O”.
Confucius Temple would be the tour afterwards, It is here that Confucius was worshipped during the Yuan , Ming and Qing dynasties .The temple was first built by Kublai Khan in 1302 in the Yuan Dynasty, and was restord and rebuilt on srveral occasion during the Ming and Qing dynasties. In 1737, during the reign of Qing Emperor Qianlong, the major hall was renovated and was recovered witrh magnificent yellow glazed roof tiles. You will spend 1 hour here.
Kungfu show is a option for this night. (cost by your own)
Transfer back to your hotel at the end.
Day 4 (L)
Start the tour in the morning, You will vist Temple of Heaven, This temple was the place of the emperor to worship the God of Heaven. It has 273 hectare in sides, most of place with the cypress the tree. So lots of older people play Taiqi, dance, sing in this park.
Followed the Hongqiao Market free shopping. This is the free market, you could find all the different souvenirs such as jewelries, bags, silk, tea, ect. You also will enjoy the barbaining here.
After local food lunch. You will visit Lama Temple, It’s the biggest lama temple out of Tibet. It’s a kind of Buddha temple, lots of locals go to pray. And it’s famous by the biggest single wood Buddha Statue in the whole. People also called the Mini Forbidden City. Because architecture style is similar as the Forbidden City, but smaller.
