Overview:

Explore some of Beijing’s most iconic attractions including Lama Temple, Confucius Temple and Beijing Zoo. Start by viewing the furry stars of the Beijing Zoo, the giant pandas. Then stop at Olympic Park to snap photos of the Water Cube and Bird’s Nest. Have lunch with a local family in their traditional home, then see the hutongs by rickshaw. In the afternoon,  Continue on to Lama Temple, an important Tibetan Buddhist temple that is home to an enormous Buddha statue, and Confucius Temple to learn some idears of the traditional culture.

Itinerary:

In the morning, your English-speaking guide, private car and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Beijing to start today’s trip. First you will see China’s national treasure – giant pandas at the Panda House of Beijing Zoo. Then head for Olympic Green and take pictures outside Water Cube and Bird’s Nest. (If you are interested in the inner structure of the stadiums, ask your tour guide to assist you in buying the tickets at your own cost, and you could enter for a visit by yourself.) Visit a traditional Beijing home and have lunch with the family. Then hop on a rickshaw and ride through the maze of hutongs, which offers a glimpse into local culture and daily life. And your lunch would be arranged at the local family home.

Hutong Home

Head for Yongle Lama Temple, a Tibetan Buddhist monastery with over 300 years of history. You can see the world’s largest wooden Buddhist statue and some Tibetan exhibitions. Next, walking through a beautiful street to visit the Temple of Confucius.The temple was built in 1302, and officials used it to pay their respects to Confucius until 1911. From 1981 to 2005,the Temple of Confucius also housed part of the art collection of the Capital Museum. It stands on the Guozijian Street, which is very close to the Imperial Academy.
